Mangosteen is the simply name of the "purple mangosteen". Mangosteen is a tropical evergreeen tree originally in Sunda Island and Indonesia. The purple mangosteen belongs to the same genus as the other mangosteens such as the button mangosteen (G. prainiana) or the charichuelo (G. madruno).
Opposite to the Durian, Mangosteen is the "cooling" fruit. It's referred as the "Queen of Fruit" because of its many benefits and qualities such as protect us from cancer.
